Susan spent 6 years in prison and two years on parole as an innocent woman. In 2006, Susan was charged with her loved one's murder from 8 years prior based on the theory that she, a 97-pound woman with an amputated leg, shot and tossed her boyfriend's 180-pound body over a bridge and into a river. Despite the clear irrationality of this theory, Susan was convicted. It wasn't until 2014 that she was exonerated when it was revealed another person confessed to the crime and the lead detective had intentionally made false statements.
